The Perceptual Intelligence™ Training Process
It starts by understanding the two phases of the transformation process, the intensive phase and the extensive phase.
Phase 1: Intensive Transformation
Duration: One Week
In this one-week phase of learning transformation, participants get an initial literacy of the principles and practices of perceptual intelligence, and start putting them to work right away. The breakthrough is immediate, changes happen instantly.
Phase 2: Extensive Transformation
Duration: One Year
In this one-year phase of learning transformation, participants get several methods of extensive reinforcement and application, moving beyond literacy into mastery of the material and application of perceptual intelligence to solve key business problems.
Step 1: Preview Event
Before the Phase 1 Intensive Transformation begins, we lead an on-site Preview Event for 5-7 qualified decision makers.
This is a half-day training, usually scheduled from 8am to 1pm with a working lunch, that helps decision-makers better understand the concept of Perceptual IntelligenceTM, how it makes change easier, and how to use to make better decisions, empower workers, build alignment in work teams and resolve conflict.
During the Preview Event, decision makers identify several strategic ways to put Perceptual IntelligenceTM to work in the organization.
Step 2: Intensive Training
After the preview event, we recommend the leadership team immediately begin the intensive transformation phase for themselves, scheduling three half days of initial training, during which they’ll get a full understanding of Perceptual IntelligenceTM, the four prime perceptions, and a solid strategy for solving business problems within their own group and for the departments they lead.
The intensive phase is three half-days live, on-site, offering 15 hours of live training. We like to see this done in back-to-back days, but will sometimes skip a day to accommodate each client’s unique constraints.
The goal is to complete the 15 hours of training in one week…without overloading participants. In our experience, afternoon trainings are not effective, and neither are whole day trainings. So the usual 3-day schedule is 8am to 1pm, allowing workers to focus fully but not intrude fully on their daily schedule.
These live half-day trainings range in size from 10-100 people, and can be done strategically, meaning, two departments who are having difficulty working together can take the training together. The goal is to fully ingest and understand the power of Perceptual IntelligenceTM and four prime perceptions that profoundly boost team health and performance.
Step 3: Extensive Training
The first week is just the beginning because that’s the nature of learning. It takes consistent effort to grow, solve business problems, get results. Yes, there’s tremendous immediate results in the first three days of training itself, but those immediate results don’t compare to the greater results from extensive learning and application.
For example, ever been at a training and heard how it was done, watched how it was done, went back to work, went to do it, and realized, I don’t know how it’s done? That’s the learning process. We get introduced to ideas, maybe we believe we can put them to work, but when the actual process of doing it starts, we realize, we need help.
So, when the intensive phase of learning and initial literacy is done, each group starts a one-year process of cementing in and applying the training to solve specific business problems in real time.
Each participant in the live training is enrolled in the digital course and asked to take the lessons on their own, on a pace of about one lesson per week. Teams get together in 1-hour and 2-hour internal seminars, watching specific digital course lessons together, again with the idea of putting them to work, pushing to mastery of the material and solving specific business problems.
We suggest each participant learn at a pace of at least one lesson per week and discuss insights for fifteen to thirty minutes in weekly team meetings. We ask leaders to use our network of consultants and coaches to work weekly with individuals and teams, live and by phone, in group meetings and one-on-one, to reinforce the learning.
It’s a custom-tailored approach to extend the transforming power of Perceptual IntelligenceTM into every part of an organization’s culture.
Step 4: Repeat from Team to Team
Once a department or an executive team has started the process, we recommend other departments and teams start the same process. The goal is to create a critical mass of application within an organization that eventually transforms the culture.
Profound, Significant Empowerment
Teaches how to optimize emotions, motivations, and behavior.
Optimal Decisions and Alignment
Helps leaders and teams paddle in the best direction.
Transforming Happiness and Morale
Builds happy people who get things done and get better together.
What is Perceptual IntelligenceTM and How Does It Help?
Once the foundational ideas are solid, we start optimizing corporate culture and every area of life by embedding four prime perceptions: views of self and others that improve the way we work in organizations and live our lives. Changes that seemed almost impossible before we understood this power are now profoundly easier.
